Communities

Collective action is better than individuals acting alone.  Research shows that people are more willing to act positively on the environment when they do so as part of a group.

Large wind farms and national energy efficiency programmes are essential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions but change also needs to happen at the local level, in communities and households up and down the country.  SERA is working to highlight projects and schemes where community action has had a real impact on greening community life - from community recycling clubs, to local ownership of decentralised energy schemes.  We are encouraging the government roll out successful projects to empower communities across the country and to unleash collective environmental action.
