Climate Change
The threat of climate change is no longer in dispute with the arctic ice sheet melting, increasing freak weather events and severe droughts the reality is here for us to see. Labour’s Climate Change Bill is the first legislation of its kind anywhere in the world, committing Britain to reduce green house gas emissions by 80% by 2050. The question now is how we find the right, green and socially just policies to ensure we meet this challenge.
SERA’s work on Carbon Budgets looks at the best way to meet our climate change commitments. We want to encourage the majority of cuts in emissions to be made from domestic reductions and for this to drive investment in quality jobs in green industries.
