Warm, affordable and sustainable housing for all is at the heart of our built environment programme. Around 28% of Britain’s CO2 emissions come from households and building green homes and communities as an important part of the battle against climate change.

From the examples set by eco-towns and zero carbon new build houses to investment in insulting homes, SERA welcomes the government's lead on this agenda. New, affordable sustainable homes and communities should also be an important strand in solving the housing shortage and creating new jobs to build us out of the economic downturn.
