Commemorating our past and investing in our sustainable future...

SERA Woods Campaign, in partnership with The Woodland Trust and the Parliamentary Labour Party Centenery

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Parliamentary Labour Party (in 2006) SERA, working with you, the Party, the movement and our partners the Woodland Trust will create five new woods. These woods will

  • Commemorate the 100th year of the Parliamentary Labour Party;
  • Highlight our commitment to responsible sustainable stewardship of the environment;
  • Actively reduce the carbon debt of the Labour Party

    The UK is one of the least wooded countries in Europe. These woods commemorate the past role of the Labour movement in forestation and emphasise the importance of creating new woods for the range of benefits they bring both for people the natural environment - a healthier local environment and a better quality of life should be available to all.

    We hope individual members of SERA, and of the wider labour movement will make a donation to support the planting of at least one tree. For example, the average UK citizen needs to plant 15 trees in one year to offset their total Carbon footprint.
